Excerpts 3
When God planned the world, he already knew that it would not be the final destination for mankind. Think about this very carefully.
Let us suppose that God’s main motive for the creation is found in these words: Mankind, you must inhabit and cultivate the earth. What would the implication have been if sin had not infiltrated the earth?
People conclude that Adam and Eve would still be alive today. The assumption is that they and their sinless offspring would still exist in the Garden of Eden. When one takes into account the huge growth of the population unhindered by death, there would be an innumerable amount of people on earth. It would have been extraordinarily more than the six billion people currently living on earth. This vast world population already is exhausting the resources and capacity of this planet. The entire earth, let alone the Garden of Eden, would have been too small to accommodate this immense number of people.
Taking these facts into account, most people will not believe that to “inhabit and cultivate the earth” is the primary reason for our existence. Another, very special place – an inherited location - clearly was planned for mankind. God himself says so in the above quotation. The Book says that the final destination of those who qualify is heaven. God had his plan ready before the beginning of the universe.
