Robert M. Swedroe

Robert Swedroe began practicing architecture in Miami Beach, Florida in 1960 after receiving his Masters of Architecture degree from Yale University. While serving as senior design architect for the renowned Morris Lapidus, he produced over 500 intricate collages. Despite sell-out solo gallery shows for ten years, he gave up his art to operate his own architecture firm.

Robert’s architecture has run the gamut from schools, hotels, and office buildings to all the major buildings in communities such as South Florida’s Turnberry Isle and Williams Island. He gained world-wide recognition for highly efficient floor plans and innovations, one of which was introducing private entry elevator concepts for multi-residential buildings.

After an absence of 33 years, Robert returned to his collage art in 2006. His work has been shown in such major cities as Chicago, New York, London and Miami. Concurrently he still manages his architecture firm.
