Contemporary Poetry

Description

Author Laurence Tysoe, upon retiring to Spain with his wife Betty, decided to reflect on many issues facing people. His book of 32 contemporary poems with illustrations depicts some of these events and burning issues of today.

The poems are about political events, British Government battles following the world financial crisis, President Barack Obama’s Inauguration, the Iraq enquiry, and the war in Afghanistan. Also included are verses about social, environmental, and sporting topics, along with messages for world peace. In writing these poems, the author looked between the headlines and put his thoughts and feelings into this medium.

The purpose of this book, in addition to providing a cathartic experience to the author, is to encourage others to express their thoughts and feelings through poetry.
