Excerpts

The new Year 2009
As a new year dawns
The whole world mourns
Fire works brighten up the sky
As we wave the old year good bye
Nothing will change as the ression bites
call for the nation to unite
Church and polititions different criteria

Military conflicts much hysteria
Middle conflict wages on
Fight against the Taliban not yet won
Barack Obama the new president elect
Has gained popularity now earns respect
Perhaps 2009 will see a new era
And bring peace to the world a little nearer.

President Barack Obama
President Barack Obama
O what a drama
Inauguration on capital hill
A million people on the overspill
Whitnessing an historical event
On change Barack Obama is bent
World peace not waris his intent

Americas first black president
In the white house he is now resident
From an Avro-Asian background he came
As a senator he learned the political game
With wife Michelle by his side
He would take all challenges in his stride
The recession to resolve
The world unites in this resolve
Alternatives to fossil fuels a must
